The winter of 2022-2023 was one for the record books. There was record cold and record snow. This article goes through some of the data and stats of this past winter.

December 2021 Climate Summary
A significant winter storm will continue to impact the region through Wednesday morning. Winter Storm Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories remain in effect for many areas tonight and into tomorrow morning. Hazardous travel conditions and isolated power outages remain possible into Wednesday morning.

Climate Summary for the region
The winter storm that produced widespread heavy snow across western and central Wyoming will push east Saturday evening. Conditions are improving from west-to-east late Saturday afternoon. However, travel will be difficult or roads may be closed even after the snow and wind has ended.

A severe thunderstorm produced a tornado in the Bighorn Mountains along Powder River Pass just before 7 PM on Wednesday, June 19th. Hundreds of conifer trees were uprooted or snapped at their trunks. Additionally, several large wooden snow fences were torn apart. The damage was consistent with an EF-1 tornado.

Climate summary for February 2019
Lingering light snow will occur tonight with little additional accumulation.
The winter storm will continue to bring snow and wind through early Tuesday morning east of the continental divide. Gusty winds will also continue through the night.
A strong cold front will move across west and central Wyoming today. This front will bring more snow to the western mountains and valleys with moderate to locally heavy snow expected today. Strong to high winds are also expected with this storm. Sustained winds will be 30 to 45 mph with gusts of 50 to 65 mph across the mountains, and portions of central and southwest Wyoming.
A winter storm continues this morning across areas east of the Continental Divide and Sweetwater County with snow and blowing snow causing terrible road conditions. Improving conditions are expected by midday today. Bitter cold temperatures will remain across the area over the next couple of days.
A quick moving winter storm will bring significant snowfall over the far west mainly Tuesday night. Strong to high wind will develop in some areas Tuesday afternoon and evening, becoming more widespread on Wednesday.
A strong cold front will bring snow to the west and high wind to portions of central Wyoming today.
Snow moves into the western mountains late Tuesday and will spread across parts of central Wyoming through Wednesday. Widespread snow and gusty winds.

A strong storm system has the potential to bring significant snow and/or wind to portions of the Cowboy State late Wednesday night through the day Friday. The worst impacts could occur across northern Wyoming where a Winter Storm Watch is in effect.
A winter storm across central Wyoming will gradually come to an end in most areas from west to east this morning.
A winter storm continues today across western Wyoming with areas of snow pushing east of the Divide. Winter driving conditions are expected in many locations today and tonight. Significant snow ends from west to east last this afternoon & evening.
A Canadian winter storm system brought significant snow to the area over the weekend and bitter cold temperatures that will continue through Wednesday morning.

A Storm System will move out of the southern and central Rockies into the Plains today. Snow will continue to taper off this morning.
Snow will continue across much of northern and central Wyoming into Saturday evening, and then taper off early Sunday morning. Be prepared for slick roads and areas of limited visibility this evening.
Strong to marginally severe thunderstorms are possible as a cold front pushes across northern and eastern Wyoming this afternoon and evening. Elevated fire danger will remain over most of southern Wyoming this afternoon where very dry, windy and warm conditions; isolated high-based thunderstorms are expected.
