Widespread Damaging Winds Likely in the Northern Plains; Heat Continues in the Central and Southeast U.S.
Severe thunderstorms, heavy rainfall, and flooding are possible from the northern Rockies into the Upper Midwest. A derecho is likely across portions of the northern Plains, with several gusts expected to exceed 75 mph. Extreme heat is expected to intensify across much of the Southeast and Tennessee Valley, continuing through much of this week.

Winter Storm Keeps Moving Eastward, Impacting Central Areas through Early Evening
A potent winter storm is impacting the region today. Winter Storm Warnings still in effect for Cody and Buffalo until 5 pm this evening. Winter Weather Advisories have also been issued for other areas of the state. Treacherous travel conditions with near zero visibility could occur along Interstate 80 Saturday morning when a heavy band of snow combined with strong wind is expected to track across the area (see radar simulation below). The snow has spread to areas east of the Divide. The heaviest snow is expected along Interstate 25 from Buffalo to Casper through Saturday afternoon. The snow tapers off or becomes very light across the west by early Saturday afternoon while the snow east of the Divide should exit the area late Saturday night. Windy conditions on Saturday could cause significant blowing and drifting of snow.
IMPACTS:
Western roads remaining slick and hazardous especially in the morning.
Interstate 80 could see white-out conditions Saturday morning from continued snowfall, and strong wind creating significant blowing snow.
Roads east of the Divide will gradually become slick in most locations. Travel will become difficult, especially along Interstate 25 between Casper and Buffalo by Saturday afternoon.

...Widespread Rainfall Tuesday afternoon and evening...
A cold front, combined with a strong mositure surge, brout widespread
showers and thunderstorms to much of Wyoming on Tuesday. Nearly
everyone got some rainfall with the exception of portions of south-
west WY. Some locations that saw training thunderstorms received over
one inch of rain, while others were only skirted by thunderstorms and
received minimal rainfall. A selection of rainfall reports are
below.
