Back-to-back powerful Pacific storm systems to impact the Pacific Northwest and northern California through the end of this week with heavy rain, flooding, strong winds, and higher elevation mountain snow. The April 2019 climate summaries for Big Piney, Buffalo, Casper, Greybull, Lake Yellowstone, Lander, Riverton, Rock Springs, and Worland are now available online. April 2019 was a little bit warmer across the Cowboy State. Climate locations were up to a degree and a half above normal for the month. There were several new daily records for both high and low temperatures at locations across the state.The coldest day reported by the climate locations was Lake Yellowstone with a mere 5 degrees on the 12th, however this was not a record. Most locations had their warmest day of the month in the mid to upper 70s. Precipitation totals were a mix of drier and wetter conditions. There were no monthly precipitation records set this month, however Big Piney had their 2nd driest April on Record since 1998. From the Riverton Home Page, hover over the "Climate and Past Weather" tab, and select the "Local" option. You can then find the Daily Climate Report (CLI), the Preliminary Monthly Climate Data (CF6), the Monthly Weather Summary (CLM), and the Regional Summary (RTP). The Daily Climate Report will have the weather data for the day (from midnight to 1159 pm). The Monthly Climate Data will have this data for each day of the month, compiling all the daily data into one form. The Regional Summary will have temperature and precipitation data for various locations across the state, updated 3 times a day.
