Dangerous Cold Persists through Monday; Wintry Weather from the Northern Plains to the Great Lakes

Bitter cold temperatures and dangerous wind chills will persist from Florida to the Northeast through Monday. Daily record low temperatures are forecast across the Southeast and Florida, with some all-time February low temperature records possible across Florida. The December 2017 climate summaries for Big Piney, Buffalo, Casper, Greybull, Lake Yellowstone, Lander, Riverton, Rock Springs, and Worland are now available online.

December 2017 was above normal, temperature-wise and much above normal for precipitaton for most areas. Only Rock Springs and Big Piney were drier than normal, both of which were also much warmer than normal. Big Piney saw it's warmest December on record.
