Lingering Winter Weather in Interior New England; Snow Squalls Developing Downwind of the Lower Great Lakes

A wintry mix will continue in interior New England through tonight as a coastal storm quickly passes to the east. Heavy snow is expected in northern Maine, with a coating of ice expected for much of interior New England. The December 2017 climate summaries for Big Piney, Buffalo, Casper, Greybull, Lake Yellowstone, Lander, Riverton, Rock Springs, and Worland are now available online.

December 2017 was above normal, temperature-wise and much above normal for precipitaton for most areas. Only Rock Springs and Big Piney were drier than normal, both of which were also much warmer than normal. Big Piney saw it's warmest December on record.
