Powerful Storms to Impact the Western U.S. and Northern Plains

A strong, long-duration atmospheric river will bring excessive rainfall, flash flooding, and very strong winds to southwest Oregon and northwest California through Thursday. Systems and Facilities Division (SFD)

The Systems and Facilities Division (SFD) manages the operations and maintenance of the various systems and facilities which support the NWS Western Region weather enterprise. Examples include Doppler Radar (WSR-88D), Automated Surface Observing Systems (ASOS), NOAA Weather Radio (NWR), Advanced Weather Interactive Processing System (AWIPS), local and wide area networks, buildings, grounds, and towers, just to name a few.
