Dangerous Heatwave Across the Western U.S; Hot and Humid in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic

A heatwave is poised to bring record-breaking temperatures across the Western United States through the weekend. Triple digit high temperatures are expected as Excessive Heat Warnings are in effect. Systems and Facilities Division (SFD)

The Systems and Facilities Division (SFD) manages the operations and maintenance of the various systems and facilities which support the NWS Western Region weather enterprise. Examples include Doppler Radar (WSR-88D), Automated Surface Observing Systems (ASOS), NOAA Weather Radio (NWR), Advanced Weather Interactive Processing System (AWIPS), local and wide area networks, buildings, grounds, and towers, just to name a few.
