A long duration Atmospheric River event will impact Southwest California bringing heavy rainfall resulting in very high rainfall totals Tuesday through Saturday. Christmas Eve and Christmas Day will have the heaviest rain, and the areas of most concern are from southeast Santa Barbara County through Central Ventura County extending through Central Los Angeles County. The areas included within the outline in the graphic will have the highest risk for life threatening floods, rockslides, and mudslides. However, dangerous flooding and rockslides and mudslides are also possible outside of the outlined area. Additionally, damaging winds and a chance of thunderstorms will bring additional hazards and impacts to Southwest California.
