Heavy Precipitation in the West; Wintry Mix in the North; Fire Weather in the High Plains

Pacific moisture will continue to bring locally heavy coastal/lower elevation rain and heavy mountain snow to the West Coast and portions of the Intermountain West through Monday. A wintry mix will create hazardous travel across the northern Plains and Upper Midwest into early Monday. 🥶 Cold Morning Ahead Sunday 🥶 An Extreme Cold Warning is in effect 1 AM–9 AM PST Sunday for the Southern Salinas Valley, Arroyo Seco, and Lake San Antonio, where temperatures may fall into the upper 20s to low 30s. A Cold Weather Advisory is also in effect for: • Santa Clara Valley & Eastern Hills • Most of San Benito County • Cholame Hills (SE Monterey County) • North Bay Interior Valleys • East Bay Interior Valleys 🌡️ Low to mid 30s expected in advisory areas.
A Beach Hazards Statement is in effect for Pacific Coast beaches from 4PM Sunday to 7PM Monday due to an increased risk for rip currents, sneaker waves, and large shore break. Remain out of the water, stay off of waterside infrastructure, and never turn your back on the ocean!
