Arctic air lingers for the east, however, winds will slowly subside and a slow moderating trend starts during the week. Moisture continues to provide rainfall and higher elevation snow for the Pacific Northwest, northern California and northern Rockies through Monday. 🌊 Beach Hazards Statement for Northwest-Facing Beaches An increased risk of sneaker waves and strong rip currents is expected along northwest-facing Pacific Coast beaches. Breaking waves of 14 to 19 feet are forecast. 🗓 Timing: 10 PM Thursday through 4 AM Saturday Impacts & Safety: • Stay off jetties, piers, rocks, and other waterside infrastructure • Remain out of the water due to hazardous surf • Never turn your back on the ocean Even on seemingly calm days, sneaker waves can suddenly surge much farther up the beach than expected.
