Dry vegetation, low relative humidity, and gusty winds could make for critical fire weather conditions across parts of south-central Georgia on Wednesday afternoon and evening. As a result, a Fire Weather Watch will be in effect. Outdoor burning is strongly discouraged.

Cold air damming (“wedge”) conditions will bring seasonable temperatures through Thursday. After that, high temperatures will return to the 80s this weekend. Rain chances will be essentially 0% for the next 7 days.

Rain chances will remain very low through early next week. Current drought conditions will worsen given the lack of rainfall.
