Fire Weather Planning Forecast for North and Central Georgia

Rain is moving into NW GA now and will continue to move southeast
through the afternoon hours. Another shot of rain moves across
central GA this evening and with the cooler temps expected
tonight we could see some freezing or frozen precipitation. It
appears things will begin as rain, turn to a rain/snow mix, then
turn to all snow as the precip is exiting the area. Most
locations across central GA will see light accumulations of 0.25"
to 0.5" through Mid day Sunday with some isolated higher amounts
near 1". Winds will be mainly out of the SW to W today in the
5-10mph range. As the frontal boundary passes through will see
winds turn more W to NW with speeds increasing into the 10-15mph
range with gust to 25mph Sun afternoon. Min RH values with be in
the 40% to 60% range today but things dry out for Sunday with Min
RH Values in the 25% to 30% range. Not expecting hazardous fire
weather conditions Sun as Fuel moisture should still be elevated
with the rain/snow we will see from Today/Tonight.
