Fire Weather Planning Forecast for North and Central Georgia
National Weather Service Peachtree City GA
226 PM EDT Fri Aug 28 2026

.DISCUSSION...

No hazardous fire weather concerns are expected at this time.
Relative humidity values remain outside of critical thresholds.

Saturday and Sunday will bring lots of near-surface moisture,
with minimum relative humidity ranging from ~50% to ~70%.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms will bring the potential for
frequent cloud-to-ground lightning, gusty/erratic winds, and
heavy rainfall at all fire zones both days. Light 20-foot winds
(generally 5 mph or less) will favor the east to southeast
through the weekend. Transport winds will be light as well. These
light winds combined with decent low-level cloud cover will
likely impede dispersion both days.
