.DISCUSSION...

Drier air will persist across north and central Georgia today.
Minimum RH values this afternoon will largely range from
20-25 percent in north Georgia and 25-30 percent in central
Georgia. A Fire Danger Statement has been issued for areas along
and north of I- 20 this afternoon and evening. Partly cloudy
skies this morning are expected to become mostly cloudy by mid
afternoon and into the evening. Winds today will be primarily SE
at 5-10 mph in the northern districts. To the south, winds will
be a bit stronger, from E at 8-12 mph with gusts up to 18-22 mph.
Mixing heights will range from 3.5-4.5 kft, with highest values
in the far northern tier.

The next chance of showers is expected late tonight through
Wednesday morning, largely to the south of the I-20 corridor and
in the southern fire districts. Showers will be scattered in
nature, and isolated thunderstorms cannot be ruled out in central
Georgia. Rainfall amounts are forecast to be largely less than
0.10". Minimum RH values on Wednesday will be higher than today,
ranging from 45-55 percent. Winds will range from 5-10 mph, from
SE in north Georgia and E in central Georgia.
