...HIGH FIRE DANGER CONDITIONS THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING FOR
PARTS OF NORTH AND CENTRAL GEORGIA DUE TO LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITIES
AND DRY VEGETATION...

A Fire Danger Statement will be in effect for this afternoon and
evening for parts of north and central Georgia. Very dry
vegetation and low relative humidity will support high fire
danger conditions. RH will bottom out between 25-30% across parts
of north and central Georgia this afternoon. 20-foot winds will
be out of the west to northwest at 4-7 mph with transport winds
similar in direction at 5-10 mph. Mixing heights should top out
between around 6500 feet and 8000 feet.

Due to ongoing drought and lack of rainfall, critical fire
weather conditions will be reached at relative humidity of 30% or
less. As such, most of the area will likely require a Fire Danger
Statement again on Saturday as RH bottoms out around 25-30%. 20-
foot winds will start out light but increase out of the southwest
at 8-12 mph during the afternoon, with gusts to around 25 mph in
the mountains and 18 mph elsewhere. Red Flag headlines may be
needed in the north GA mountains due to the stronger winds.
Mixing heights will likely peak between 6000 feet and 8000 feet.

Saturday night into Sunday morning looks to bring wetting
rainfall to at least parts of the north Georgia fire districts as
a cold front moves in and supports showers and storms.
