...HIGH FIRE DANGER CONDITIONS THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING FOR
NORTH AND PARTS OF CENTRAL GEORGIA DUE TO LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY...

Dry and gradually clearing skies are expected today (Thursday),
persisting through the weekend. Given the very dry airmass that
remains in place, early morning fog is not anticipated. Winds
remain out of the east-northeast at 5-10 MPH and diminishing
after sunset. Transport winds will also be out of the
east-northeast to northeast increasing to 10-20 MPH after 8 AM
Thursday. Despite some recovery of relative humidity (RH)
overnight, values are expected to lower near/to critical
thresholds again this afternoon and evening. The current forecast
has minimum RH values ranging from 20-30% -- the lower values
mainly across the southern fire districts. Thankfully, winds will
not be quite as breezy as Wednesday, but ongoing dry weather
combined with the low RH values will still necessitate high fire
danger for the afternoon. Thus, a Fire Danger Statement has been
issued for the Northern Fire Districts and portions of the
Southern Districts.
