Fire Weather Planning Forecast for North and Central Georgia
National Weather Service Peachtree City GA
226 PM EDT Sun Apr 5 2026

.DISCUSSION...

No hazardous fire weather concerns are expected at this time.

As a cold front pushes into north Georgia, numerous showers are
ongoing along I-85. As these continues south and east through the
afternoon, scattered thunderstorms will become possible as well.
The front and precipitation will exit the forecast area to the
southeast this evening. Additional rainfall amounts are forecast
to range from 0.25 to 0.5 inch through the evening. Minimum RH
values will range from 50-70 percent, with the lowest values in
far northwest Georgia in locations behind the frontal boundary.
Winds will be W in central Georgia and NW in north Georgia at
8-12 mph and gusts up to 20 mph across the majority of the area.
The highest elevations of far north Georgia could see wind gusts
as high as 25 mph.

A cooler and drier airmass will set up across the area overnight
into Monday. Minimum RH values on Monday are forecast to range
from 25-35 percent, though some locations in the far northeast
may see values briefly drop below 25 percent for an hour or two
in the mid to late afternoon. Winds on Monday will shift to N to
NE and peak between 6-10 mph in the early afternoon, gradually
decreasing thereafter. Mixing heights on Monday afternoon will
peak between 4000-5000 ft.
