Fire Weather Planning Forecast for North and Central Georgia
National Weather Service Peachtree City GA
226 PM EDT Sun Mar 15 2026

.DISCUSSION...

No hazardous fire weather concerns are expected at this time.
Relative humidity values will remain outside of critical
thresholds.

Today (Sunday), moisture will increase bringing minimum RH values
to 45-75 percent across the fire districts. The chance for
scattered showers and thunderstorms will also increase through
the afternoon. At this time, best chance for wetting rain Sunday
afternoon will be across the Southern Districts. 20ft winds will
generally be from the SE/S increasing to 8 to 15 mph with gusts
over 25 mph likely across most of the Northern Fire Districts.

Tonight, a cold front will approach the area from the west,
bringing along a line of strong to severe thunderstorms which
will move through from late tonight through early Monday
afternoon. Widespread rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch or more
are expected during this time. 20 ft winds will strengthen and
turn out of the SW just ahead of the front, and then turn W/NW
after the front passes. By late Monday afternoon, most areas will
be rain-free, with strong W/NW 20 ft winds around 15 mph with
gusts 30-35 mph. Min RH values will fall to the 40-50 percent
during the late afternoon and evening.
