.DISCUSSION...

No hazardous fire weather concerns are expected at this time.
Relative humidity and winds will remain outside of critical
thresholds.

Areas of fog and low cloud ceilings of 500 ft or less are
anticipated in areas of east-central Georgia, roughly along and
southeast of a line from Macon to Athens. Some fog will likely be
dense, with visibilities as low as one-quarter mile. The fog and
low clouds will persist through mid-morning, ultimately
dissipating by 10-11 AM. Winds will be S to SW today, increasing
to 5-10 mph with occasional gusts of 15-20 mph in the afternoon.
Minimum RH values will range from 45-55 percent this afternoon.
Transport winds will be SW across the area, between 12-20 mph in
areas along and north of the I-85 corridor and between 8-12 mph
in areas to the south. These transport winds combined with mixing
heights increasing to between 4.5-6 kft should allow for good
smoke dispersal.

Areas of fog and low clouds will be possible once again in east-
central Georgia, including the Oconee District, late Thursday
night into Friday morning. Temperatures on Friday will rise into
the low to mid 80s, which will somewhat offset increasing
dewpoints and lead to RH values between 45-55 percent once again.
Winds on Friday will be S to SE at 5-10 mph. Scattered showers
and thunderstorms will be possible on Friday afternoon, with the
highest chances forecast in portions of west-central Georgia at
this time.
