Last Map Update: Sun, Jul 27, 2025 at 8:54:41 pm CDT

High temperatures will increase further starting on Sunday and persisting through at least midweek next week while high humidity will persist, resulting in high heat index values that will increase the risk of heat exhaustion and heat stroke for those spending prolonged periods of time outdoors and for those who lack the ability to safely cool down and remain hydrated.
A Heat Advisory is in effect for much of central Alabama on Sunday, July 27th from 11 am to 9 pm. A combination of hot and humid conditions will result in heat indices as high as 107 degrees. Ensure heat safety actions for people and pets!
Muggy conditions continue overnight with lows dropping into the mid to upper 70s.
Hot and humid conditions expected Monday. Highs will be in the mid to upper 90s with heat indices exceeding 105 in many locations. There will be a low chance for showers and thunderstorms across the northern portions of the area during the afternoon.
