Warm and dry conditions are in store for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Afternoon temperatures are expected to reach the upper 60s to the middle 70 across Central Alabama today through Sunday, which are near 15 to 20 degrees above normal for late December.
Here is the current drought outlook for Alabama. Moderate to extreme drought conditions continue to impact much of Central Alabama. According to the latest U.S. Drought Monitor, while some areas remain "abnormally dry," a significant portion of the state is facing "severe" to "extreme" drought levels (D2-D3).
