A moderate risk of flash flooding (Level 2 out of 4) is in effect Thursday and Friday, with the highest threat across the southern portions of Central Alabama. Flash flooding will be likely with rainfall amounts of 2-5" and locally higher amounts of 6" or more. Never cross flooded roads.
There is a level 2 of 5 Slight Risk for severe thunderstorms on Thursday. Damaging wind and brief, isolated tornadoes are the main hazards.
There is a level 1 of 5 Marginal risk for severe thunderstorms on Friday. Damaging winds are the main threat.
Widespread rain and storms are expected today, with afternoon highs ranging in the upper-70s to low-80s. Heavy rain may cause flash flooding.
Additional widespread heavy showers and storms, with lows in the lower-70s.
