Heat index values are forecast to reach the low- to mid-100s across the majority of the forecast area for each afternoon through the weekend. A Heat Advisory is in effect for north and central Georgia until 8 PM Saturday, where heat index values will reach around 106 degrees in the afternoon.
Isolated to scattered thunderstorms are expected tomorrow afternoon. A few storms may become severe, especially over northern and eastern portions of our area, with strong to damaging gusty winds, frequent lightning, and heavy rainfall as the primary threats.
