Scattered thunderstorms are expected this afternoon into the evening. Several storms could become severe, capable of producing strong wind gusts and large hail.

Long range models are favoring wetter than normal conditions for the last ~10 days of May. This does not mean it will rain every day or that there will necessarily be a period of heavy rain. However, it does suggest increased opportunities for wet weather as we head toward the end of the month. This would be very welcomed rainfall given the ongoing drought conditions across the region.
