Storm Impacting the Northwest U.S.; Fire Weather Conditions in Southern California; Severe Weather in the South

A Pacific storm is bringing areas of low elevation rain, moderate to heavy mountain snow, and high winds to the Northwest. Strong Santa Ana winds and very dry conditions are producing elevated to critical fire weather conditions in southern California. Plenty of rainfall is expected in Georgia through Tuesday night due to multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms. Additional rain totals between 1 and 3 inches are expected, with isolated amounts over 4 inches possible. Isolated flash flooding or river flooding may occur.
Areas of flooding could develop in west central Georgia today or tonight do to 2 to 4 inches of expected rainfall. Be mindful of the potential for flooding and never try to cross a flooded roadway.
Strong to severe thunderstorms are possible today in central Georgia. Damaging winds gusts are the most likely hazard, but a brief tornado could also occur.
The potential for severe weather will continue into Monday. Strong or severe storms could occur anytime on Monday, but the greatest risk is expected Monday afternoon. All hazards, including damaging wind gusts, hail, and or a brief tornado are possible.
