About Skywarn | Training Schedule | Amateur Radio | Spotter Guide |
The spotter training sessions have ended for 2024, but check back again occasionally to see if we have added any special sessions (such as around the annual Open House, usually in October or November). Otherwise, please join us for the 2025 spotter training sessions, which begin in early February 2025.
Meteorologists from the National Weather Service in Norman conduct storm spotter training sessions each year to help prepare spotters for the upcoming severe weather season. The NWS conducts the training at the invitation of local emergency management officials who organize the training and who, in most cases are responsible for maintaining their local storm spotter network.
If you're interested in being a spotter and are looking for more training materials, visit the "About Skywarn" tab from the menu above and choose the "Become a Spotter" link on that page. You can also find training materials on our YouTube channel - https://www.youtube.com/
