Cold Front Moving Through the Northeast U.S. Monday; Atmospheric River to Impact the Pacific Northwest Midweek

A cold front will cross the Great Lakes and Northeast U.S. through Monday with gusty winds and areas of rain showers. A strong atmospheric river is expected to move into the Pacific Northwest by midweek bringing a threat for moderate to heavy rainfall, gusty winds, and mountain snows for parts of Washington, Oregon, northern California, and the Sierra Nevada. The first widespread and hard freeze is expected Monday morning. Wind chills will sit as low as 15-25 degrees around daybreak.
Cold air behind a cold front will prevent Sunday high temperatures from getting out of the 50s. This colder air will linger into Monday with highs in the 40s and 50s.
A rapid warming trend on Tuesday will bring elevated fire weather into the fold across parts of western north Texas and southwest Oklahoma.

Local Weather History For November 8th...
On this date in 1994, a late season severe thunderstorm occurred near
the Red River over southwest Oklahoma. Wind gusts of 50 mph and
one-inch diameter hail were reported near Eldorado and Humphreys, in
Jackson County. Additional severe hail and 60 mph winds were reported
near Roosevelt, in Kiowa County.
