Last Map Update: Wed, Dec 3, 2025 at 10:20:13 am CST

Forecast models continue to hone in on snowfall for the western combined Panhandles; however, there is still some small potential for measurable snow to make it further east. Snowfall forecast confidence remains low to medium, as the higher totals of 1 inch or more will greatly depend upon where any narrow snowfall bands set up. Areas outside of the narrow snow bands will very likely see less than 1 inch of snow.
Snowfall may start across the northern Panhandles during the mid to late afternoon timeframe today with snow spreading south through the evening into early Thursday morning. Snow will also end from north to south overnight and should mostly be over across the south by late morning on Thursday.
The higher potential for winter weather impacts from snow are still across the western and southwestern Panhandles. The areas with the higher potential for impacts, are generally the areas that are more favored for where the narrow, heavier snow band or bands will set up. Where ever the snow bands do set up, hazardous driving conditions will be possible along with slick sidewalks.
Cold temperatures are forecast for tonight behind a cold front. Lows in the upper teens to low 20s are forecast and wind chill values may drop into the lower teens by Thursday morning. Dress warm if planning to head out on Thursday morning!
With light snow in the forecast for Wednesday into Thursday, it is important to be prepared for potential hazardous driving conditions due to slick roadways and low visibility. The first snow of the year can catch people off guard not having driven in these conditions for multiple months. Take it slow if encountering snow, do not use cruise control, and leave plenty of distance between vehicles.
