Ongoing dry fuels will yield elevated wildfire conditions through at least Sunday across the entire Four State Region. Outdoor burning and activities that involve open sparks or flames are discouraged.
The forecast into early April calls for above normal temperatures and near to below normal rainfall, keeping the elevated wildfire threat across much of our Four-State area into next month.
The drying trend will continue through at least the end of the month across the Four State Region. Thus, the wildfire threat will increase as well. Look for additional counties and parishes to be added to this Burn Ban map through the end of the month.
Well above average on Sunday with temperatures in the mid to upper 80s. Morning low clouds will arrive with lows around 60 degrees. The winds will be S/SW 5 to 15 with gusts to 25 mph keeping the wildfire threat for us.
Here are today's temperature and precipitation averages, along with records for selected sites across the Four-State area.
