Strong northwest winds are expected behind a cold front that will move across the area Sunday. Wind gusts up to 60-65 mph will be possible.
Critical fire weather will occur Sunday afternoon with extremely gusty winds and low humidity. A Red Flag Warning is in effect for parts of OK and western north TX.
A hard freeze will occur Sunday night into Monday morning, with wind chills reaching as cold as 5-20 degrees.
At least elevated fire weather will continue daily across portions of our area, especially across western Oklahoma and western-north Texas. The fire danger will be highest on Sunday afternoon behind a strong cold front.
Near-record temperatures are expected for multiple days as an early-spring heat wave grips the southwestern U.S.

An F3 tornado hit the city of Ada on March 15, 1982, killing one
person and injuring 36 at a mobile home park. Sixty-eight trailers
were damaged or destroyed, with damages totaling $2 million.
