Hot temperatures, low relative humidity, gusty winds and very dry fuels will contribute to dangerous fire weather conditions on Thursday afternoon and evening.
Strong winds behind a cold front, in addition to dry air and dry fuels, will foster near critical fire weather conditions across the area.
Southwest wind gusts up to 45 mph are expected on Thursday. A cold front will shift winds (to the north-northeast) into Friday, with gusts up to 55 mph possible into the early evening.
Potentially dangerous fire weather conditions are expected on Thursday and Friday, with continued risks by Sunday into next week.

Local Weather History For March 26th...
On March 26, 1991, severe thunderstorms across much of north-central
and northwest Oklahoma produced a total of five tornadoes. Four of
the tornadoes were weak, but the fifth was much stronger. That
tornado traversed a 67-mile long path from just northeast of Nash, in
Grant County, northeastward into southern Kansas.
