Lingering Winter Weather in Interior New England; Snow Squalls Developing Downwind of the Lower Great Lakes

A wintry mix will continue in interior New England through tonight as a coastal storm quickly passes to the east. Heavy snow is expected in northern Maine, with a coating of ice expected for much of interior New England. Rain will move in this afternoon with an approaching frontal boundary. Much colder air will change rain to snow this evening with the mountains staying as all snow. Significant snow accumulations are expected in the mountains with lighter totals possible in other areas. Scattered flurries will linger on Thursday with dry and very cold conditions Thursday night. Another system will arrive Friday night into Saturday with another chance for light snow.
