Fire Weather Planning Forecast for East Tennessee...Southwest
Virginia...and Extreme Southwest North Carolina
National Weather Service Morristown TN
326 AM EDT Fri Sep 18 2026
.DISCUSSION...
Abnormally warm temperatures can be expected into the weekend as a
large high pressure ridge slowly moves west over the region. Shower
and thunderstorm chances, while low, will gradually expand in areal
coverage over the weekend in the afternoon hours to include the
whole area. Temperatures will trend toward normal values by mid-week
and more frequent storm chances return, too.
