Heavy rain and gusty winds from Tropical Storm Moke will impact the Big Island into Monday, risking life-threatening flooding and mudslides in windward and southeast areas. Severe thunderstorms are expected across the northern Rockies/Plains and northern Great Basin. Dangerous heat persists across the Southern Plains and Lower Mississippi Valley, building further into the Southwest by midweek. Read More >

.DISCUSSION...
Most areas will be dry for the next week or so. The best chance for
any precipitation will be along the Smokies. Additionally, high
pressure aloft will begin to strengthen over the region this weekend
and into next week, for a return of hot and muggy conditions.
Afternoon dew points will linger in the upper 60`s to lower 70`s
helping to keep humidities somewhat elevated even with the very
high temperatures.
