* Zone Forecast (ZFP)

A zone is an area where essentially the same weather is expected, so that a single forecast can serve as the local forecast for all communities within the area. In Georgia, each county is a "Zone" (with only a few exceptions). This is why the "Zone" forecast is also known as the "county averaged" forecast". "Zone" forecasts cover a seven-day period, and have enough detail to give customers a clear statement of expected weather. Significant weather events, such as warnings, watches, and advisories are headlined in each zone forecast. The zone forecast is issued around 4am/pm local time, and updated as needed.

* Area Forecast Matrices (AFM)

How to decode the AFM
The "Area Forecast Matrices" are a tabular representation of our zone forecast. They provide information in three-hourly increments in groupings that match the zone forecast. Forecasts cover a seven-day period. The AFM is issued around 4am/pm local time, and updated as needed.

* Point Forecast Matrices (PFM)

How to decode the PFM
The "Point Forecast Matrices" are tabular presentations (like the AFM product), but, instead of forecasts for each zone/county, the forecasts are for 16 selected cities/towns in Georgia. The forecasts cover a seven-day period. The PFM is issued around 4am/pm local time, and updated as needed.

* Georgia State Forecast (SFP)

The "Georgia State Forecast" is an area forecast for the entire state of Georgia. It describes conditions expected over the next 5 days in somewhat general terms. It is issued around 4am and 5pm, and updated as needed.

* Tabular State Forecast (SFT)

The "Tabular State Forecast" is a relatively new product issued by each National Weather Service office. It delivers expected daytime weather conditions, highs and lows, and precipitation probabilities for the next seven days in an abbreviated format that is extremely easy to read. It is issued twice daily, around 4am/pm local time, and updated as needed.

* Hazardous Weather Outlook (HWO)

The "Hazardous Weather Outlook" is a discussion, primarily for emergency managers and NWS storm spotters, of expected hazardous weather during the next seven days, with special emphasis placed on the first day. The Outlook is issued each morning around 530am local time and updated around 11am, 4pm, and 10 pm, if needed. From March through May there is always an update around 1130 am.

* Area Forecast Discussion (AFD)

The "Area Forecast Discussion" is a narrative taking users inside the mind of a NWS forecaster, and their thoughts about forecast evolution during the next seven days. In some cases, a 'preliminary forecast' of temperatures and precipitation chances is provided at the bottom of the discussion. The AFD is issued daily around 3am and 3pm, and usually with each forecast update as well.

* Fire Weather Forecast (FWF)

The "Fire Weather Forecast" is a forecast of several parameters considered helpful or crucial to fire weather operations. These include several indices, as well as temperature, humidity, and precipitation. The forecast is issued twice daily -- around 4am, and again around 330pm.

* Terminal Aerodrome Forecast (TAF)

The "Terminal Aerodrome Forecast" is a forecast of take-off and landing conditions at airports in the area. It provides forecasts of sky cover, visibility, wind, and expected weather in a universally-coded format, for the next 24 hours. The TAF is issued every six hours, and updated as needed.

* Hydrologic Summary (RVA)

The "Hydrologic Summary" provides the water levels, or "stages" of rivers, streams, creeks, reservoirs, and lakes across North and Central Georgia. The stages are taken once a day around 8 am EST. The amount of change from one day to the next is also given. The product is issued around 930 am each day. Our web pages: rivers and lakes

* Daily River Summary/Forecast (RVD)

The "Daily River Summary/Forecast" provides the water levels, or "stages" of rivers, streams, and creeks across North and Central Georgia along with a forecast of expected water levels for the next 3 days. The stages are taken once a day around 7 am EST. The amount of change from one day to the next is also given. The product is issued around 11 am each day.

* Daily Hydrologic Statement (RVS)

The "Daily Hydrologic Statement" provides a forecast of expected water levels for 8 major forecast points. The product is issued around 11 am each day.

* Climate Report (CLI)

The "Climate Report" presents daily climatological data (high/low temp & precipitation, etc.) in tabular form. Separate products are issued for Atlanta, Athens, Columbus and Macon. The report is issued twice daily -- around 4:15am and 4:30pm.

* Regional Temp / Precip Table (RTP)

The "Regional Temperature and Precipitation Table" summarizes high and low temperatures and 24 hour precipitation at all hourly reporting locations in the NWS Peachtree City service area, and is issued twice a day at 7:30am/pm EST.

* Hourly Regional Weather Roundup (RWR)

The "Hourly Regional Weather Roundup " lists current conditions at a number of airports across Georgia - including sky conditions, temperature, dewpoint, relative humidity, wind speed and direction, and barometric pressure.

* Monthly Climate Report (CLM)

The "Monthly Climate Report" is a detailed climatological summary of the previous month Separate products are issued for Atlanta, Athens, Columbus and Macon. This product is issued during the first week of each month.
