Cold Front Moving Through the Northeast U.S. Monday; Atmospheric River to Impact the Pacific Northwest Midweek

A cold front will cross the Great Lakes and Northeast U.S. through Monday with gusty winds and areas of rain showers. A strong atmospheric river is expected to move into the Pacific Northwest by midweek bringing a threat for moderate to heavy rainfall, gusty winds, and mountain snows for parts of Washington, Oregon, northern California, and the Sierra Nevada. Significant Tornado Events or Tornado Outbreaks

The April 27-28, 1912 Tornado Outbreak - This tornado outbreak produced many strong to violent tornadoes mainly in western and central Oklahoma, but included an F4 tornado which plowed through portions of Hardeman County in western north Texas.

The April 10, 1979 Red River Tornado Outbreak . This outbreak included a tornado which devastated parts of Wichita Falls, Texas, and was the most costly tornado until the May 3, 1999 Bridge Creek/Moore/OKC Area tornado.
