A tornado initially touched 3.5 miles west of Ardmore in Carter County and moved northeastward while touching down and lifting intermittently along a 31-mile path before dissipating 3.5 miles northeast of Sulphur in Murray County. In the area west of Ardmore, the tornado injured 1 person and caused $2,000 in damages. In areas near Sulphur, the tornado injured and second person and produced $3,000 in damages. It is possible that there were two or more tornadoes that occurred instead of one tornado producing a single, intermittent track. |

This tornado touched down in the town of Sulphur in Murray County and hit a drive-in movie theater. The movie screen at the theater was blown onto an automobile and injured 3 women. One woman later died from the injuries that she received. |

Numerous tornadoes and other damaging storms occurred during a severe weather outbreak on April 2, 1957. One tornado formed 4 miles northeast of Sulphur in Murray County and moved to the north-northwest for 12 miles before lifting 5 miles south of Stratford in Garvin County. The tornado damaged at least 18 houses and 10 barns. One woman was injured 5 miles south of Stratford when the tornado hit the farmhouse in which she was sheltering. |

This tornado touched down in Murray County about 15 miles north of Ardmore, OK or about 5 miles north of Springer, OK, moved north-northeast, and crossed U.S. Highway 77. It overturned a pickup truck on U.S. Highway 77and threw it 75 yards. The driver was killed when he was ejected from the truck. An automobile was also launched 300 yards, but the driver had stopped and taken cover just in time. The tornado also destroyed a 340-foot television tower, unroofed a transmitter building, and broke off several utility poles. Two other people were injured. |

A tornado formed on the northwestern edge of Sulphur and moved eastward across the city. Twenty to twenty-five homes sustained damage (mainly to roofs) from the storm. Some outbuildings were also destroyed. The condensation funnel was not in direct contact with the ground. One person was injured by flying debris. Total damages were estimated at $250,000. |

This tornado touched about 5 miles southwest of Ratliff City, OK at 5:00 pm CST, and then moved east-northeastward along an intermittent, 27-mile path at approximately 35 mph. The condensation funnel was visible on the ground for about 20 percent of the time, and at tree top level for the remainder of the time. The heaviest damage from the tornado was concentrated in an area extending from 2 miles south of Ratliff City to northwest of the junction of U.S. Interstate Highway I-35 and OK State Highway 7. Ten to fifteen buildings were damaged along the storm path. Three injuries occurred when a wood frame house was completely destroyed south of Ratliff City. Approximately 7 miles west-northwest of the town of Davis, OK, a home was leveled with only a few concrete blocks remaining around the foundation. At this home, five deaths and three injuries occurred. |

A tornado touched 6 miles south-southeast of Davis and moved northeastward until it dissipated 2 miles southwest of Sulphur. The tornado damaged many trees along its path. Ad the tornado passed Arbuckle Lake, it destroyed 5 mobile homes and 2 frame houses. Fifteen other houses suffered some damage. One woman was slightly injured when she was hit by a flying tree limb while running for shelter. Total damages were estimated at $250,000. |
