On Wednesday, December 28, 2005 there was an eruption of severe thunderstorms across portions of North and Central Georgia (mainly Central GA) that resulted in at least 3 tornadoes, and several occurrences of very large hail. The tornadoes (probably F0 or F1) occurred in Laurens, Wilcox, and Pulaski counties - affecting mainly rural areas, but damaging several structures and a few cars/trucks. Hail fell in at least 33 counties across North and Central Georgia. Hail the size of softballs hit Sumter County, and hail the size of baseballs pummeled a few others - including Troup, Crisp, and Johnson. Fortunately, there were apparently no injuries.
