A Pacific storm is bringing areas of low elevation rain, moderate to heavy mountain snow, and high winds to the Northwest. Strong Santa Ana winds and very dry conditions are producing elevated to critical fire weather conditions in southern California. Large hail fell on at least 23 counties in North and Central Georgia...
On the morning of April 19, 2006 a warm front extending from western Tennessee across Alabama into southwestern Georgia was drifting to the east. When thunderstorms erupted near the front before noon, hail the size of pennies began to pelt portions of Northwest Georgia. Before the day was over, severe thunderstorms would drop hailstones the size of golfballs, tennis balls, and even softballs across some west Georgia communities.
