Storm Impacting the Northwest U.S.; Fire Weather Conditions in Southern California; Severe Weather in the South

A Pacific storm is bringing areas of low elevation rain, moderate to heavy mountain snow, and high winds to the Northwest. Strong Santa Ana winds and very dry conditions are producing elevated to critical fire weather conditions in southern California. Whitfield County StormReady Recognition Presentation

On Wednesday, April 22, 2009 representatives of Georgia's StormReady Executive Board met with dignitaries from Whitfield County, including representatives from the County Board of Commissioners, and the Whitfield County Emergency Services. The purpose - to publicly recognize the county as a "StormReady Community". A Certificate of Recognition and StormReady street signs were presented. Making the presentation was Mr. Barry Gooden, Warning Coordination Meteorologist from the National Weather Service Forecast Office in Peachtree City. Other participants:
