A Pacific storm is bringing areas of low elevation rain, moderate to heavy mountain snow, and high winds to the Northwest. Strong Santa Ana winds and very dry conditions are producing elevated to critical fire weather conditions in southern California. A vigorous upper level low travelling east along the Gulf Coast caused an intense low pressure system to develop. Both systems moved across Georgia resulting in widespread soaking rains and even some minor flooding at some locations. Reported amounts in some river basins exceeded 5 inches over a 3-day period.
