Power Pages require Javascript to be turned on.
Power Pages were designed for all users, but due to the size of images, performance will be best for those on DSL or Cable modems (broadband). Those on dial-up accounts may occasionally see partial images, or missing images. Be aware that all information on the Power Pages is available elsewhere on this website.
There are TWO Power Pages...one for Overview & Hazards, and another for satellite imagery, national forecasts and the local upper air sounding. An additional Power Page for Tropical Weather is anticipated in the near future.
The OVERVIEW / HAZARDS Power Page...
By default, the image that is loaded on the page is a national-scale loop of current radar data overlayed with the Day One forecast for severe thunderstorms from the Storm Prediction Center (SPC) in Norman, OK. A lot of other data has been loaded, and can be seen by simply passing the mouse curser over the labels/tabs across the top of the frame of the image. There are two rows of labels/tabs. The bottom row is all radar imagery. The top row is a variety of maps to help you get a feel for what is going on nationally, regionally, and in Georgia (what we call "Situational Awareness"). Additional functionality...if you CLICK on labels/tabs, you will get additional detail, radar loops, or be taken to the web site that originated the image. If you click on any of the main radar images, you will initiate looping within the frame (no pop-up window). A second click on that image will stop the looping and return to the latest static image. Clicking on any of the other main images will take you to the web site that originated the image. The images are automatically kept up to date with a refresh.
Below the top frame of images, there is a Watch / Warning / Advisory (WWA) map. Colors on this map indicate which counties are affected by various Wathes, Warnings, or Advisories. Clicking on any county will pull up all of the bulletins for that county.

The SURFACE/SATELLITE/SOUNDING Power Page...
This is the second in the Power Page series. The default image in the main image frame is the current national surface map showing fronts, high and low pressure systems, and isobars. Passing the mouse curser over the labels/tabs will switch the image to one of four forecast maps which show areas where precipiation may occur. The second row of labels/tabs link to the latest satellite imagery in a variety of forms and resolutions. Additional functionality...if you CLICK on labels/tabs, you will get additional detail, satellite loops, or be taken to the web site that originated the image. Clicking on any of the other main images will take you to the web site that originated the image. These images are automatically kept up-to-date.
