Storm Impacting the Northwest U.S.; Fire Weather Conditions in Southern California; Severe Weather in the South

A Pacific storm is bringing areas of low elevation rain, moderate to heavy mountain snow, and high winds to the Northwest. Strong Santa Ana winds and very dry conditions are producing elevated to critical fire weather conditions in southern California. *** 1 FATAL, 30 INJ *** NWS DAMAGE SURVEY CONCLUDED AN
EF2 TORNADO OCCURRED. THE PATH LENGTH WAS 6 MILES LONG
AND MAXIMUM PATH WIDTH WAS 200 YARDS WIDE. THE TORNADO
TOUCHED DOWN NEAR SIMPSON AND BURBANK ROAD AT 938 PM. IT
MOVED ACROSS DOWNTOWN ATLANTA AND LIFTED AT THE CORNER OF
BRAEBURN AND JOSEPHINE ROAD IN WESTERN DEKALB COUNTY. THE
FATALITY OCCURRED ON DECATUR STREET ACROSS FROM THE MLK
MARTA STATION.
