Storm Impacting the Northwest U.S.; Fire Weather Conditions in Southern California; Severe Weather in the South

A Pacific storm is bringing areas of low elevation rain, moderate to heavy mountain snow, and high winds to the Northwest. Strong Santa Ana winds and very dry conditions are producing elevated to critical fire weather conditions in southern California. Earliest, Latest and Average Last Freeze Dates for North and Central Georgia

The average last freeze date, where the minimum temperature is 32°F or less is in March, but it has occurred as early as February and as late as April. Per a request from our agricultural partners, our frost freeze program will begin March 1 2013.

Frost Advisory: An 80% or greater chance of a significant frost with minimum temperatures of 33°F - 36°F - issued up to 24 hours in advance.

Freeze Warning: An 80% or greater chance of minimum temperatures at or below 32°F during the growing season - issued up to 24 hours in advance.
