Storm Impacting the Northwest U.S.; Fire Weather Conditions in Southern California; Severe Weather in the South

A Pacific storm is bringing areas of low elevation rain, moderate to heavy mountain snow, and high winds to the Northwest. Strong Santa Ana winds and very dry conditions are producing elevated to critical fire weather conditions in southern California. F2 intensity

Path: START position 6.5 miles southwest of downtown Bremen END position 3.5 miles northeast of Bremen affecting 2 counties (Carroll and Haralson).

subdivision south of downtown Bremen

Cashtown Rd just northeast of Bremen

  • at least 2 dozen homes damaged...mostly by falling trees
  • several businesses (at least 4) damaged plus a golf course
  • several barns and outbuildings either destroyed or damaged
  • many hundreds of trees snapped or uprooted. Several were VERY large hardwoods and pines.
  • extensive damage to power lines and telephone lines
  • apparently no deaths and the number of injured is unknown.
