Storm Impacting the Northwest U.S.; Fire Weather Conditions in Southern California; Severe Weather in the South

A Pacific storm is bringing areas of low elevation rain, moderate to heavy mountain snow, and high winds to the Northwest. Strong Santa Ana winds and very dry conditions are producing elevated to critical fire weather conditions in southern California. June 8, 2014 Troup County Tornado

 

Troup County near Lagrange:

In the early morning hours of Sunday, June 8, 2014, a squall line moved into western Georgia and produced a short lived EF1 tornado just west of Lagrange. The tornado touched down on Newton Road just east of West Point Lake at 159 AM EDT and traveled southeast, lifting about 2 miles north of Cannonville. Along its path it uprooted and snapped trees, one of those falling on 3 cars and crushing them. Other trees fell on a couple on houses causing damage. The tornado also destroyed a greenhouse and also caused shingle and siding damage on a couple of houses.
