Alabama Tornado Occurrences
February 1794 through Preliminary May 19, 2026 The Enhanced Fujita Scale went into effect in February 2007. For simplicity, the F-Scale will remain the main intensity descriptor for this database, and it will be implied that the ratings are based on the EF-Scale starting in February 2007. This database continues to be maintained and updated. Our goal is to provide the most comprehensive historical tornado information for the State of Alabama. If you have any information that can help us correct or expand our tornado event listings, please contact Jason Holmes. This dataset is a compilation utilizing various sources, some of which required correction or adjustment based upon our local knowledge and historical research.
