Lingering Winter Weather in Interior New England; Snow Squalls Developing Downwind of the Lower Great Lakes

A wintry mix will continue in interior New England through tonight as a coastal storm quickly passes to the east. Heavy snow is expected in northern Maine, with a coating of ice expected for much of interior New England. Very cold temperatures this morning plus lingering wind gusts will yield very cool feels like temperatures, with single digits possible in many locations, and subzero feels like in the mountains. Wear multiple layers of clothing if out and stay warm!
After morning flurries and snow showers, dry and cold conditions are expected today with highs only reaching to near or below freezing for most. Friday will be warmer with highs rising well into the 40s. Another chance for rain and snow showers will return Friday night into Saturday morning with the best chance for accumulations being in the higher elevations of the Tennessee and southwest Virginia mountains.
