A few showers and isolated storms have developed across portions of North Texas this morning. This activity will continue to move east/northeast through the morning hours. Occasional lightning will be the main hazard, but we can't rule out small hail in some of the stronger storms. Additional showers and isolated storms are possible later this morning across portions of Central TX.
Rain and storm chances will remain across portions of our area this afternoon through tonight. A few storms are possible mainly over Central TX this afternoon, but a complex of storms may enter our Red River counties this evening and tonight. Some storms may become strong to severe with damaging winds and large hail as the main hazard. This activity is expected to weaken overnight as it moves south.
Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms are possible Saturday afternoon across portions of Central TX. Severe storms are not expected at this time. A decaying complex of storms may approach the Red River Saturday night, but at this time the best coverage of storms and potential for severe weather is expected to remain north of our area.
Another cold front will approach our region on Sunday with at least scattered showers and storms developing across portions of North and Central Texas in the afternoon and evening. There will be a threat for a few strong to severe storms with large hail and damaging winds and the main threats. Forecast details will continue to be adjusted as new data arrives.
Warm and dry conditions are expected next week with highs climbing up into the upper 80s and 90s by mid to late week. Little to no precipitation is expected.
