A Red Flag Warning is in effect for areas near and west of the Interstate 35 corridor from 12 PM to 9 PM, due to very windy and dry conditions. AVOID outdoor burning. Never toss lit cigarettes on the ground and avoid any other activities that could start a wildfire!
A Wind Advisory is in effect for all of North and Central Texas through this evening following the passage of a strong cold front. Unsecured outdoor items may be blown around in the wind. Driving on area roadways may become difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles. Small tree limbs could break and cause damage.
Strong north winds, with sustained speeds of 20-35 mph and peak gusts reaching 40-50+ mph, are expected this afternoon and evening with the passage of a cold front. The high winds will persist well into the evening hours. Refer to the provided map for an estimate of when the strongest winds are expected to arrive in your area.
A strong cold front will cause a dramatic temperature drop tonight. Be prepared for Monday morning lows in the upper 20s to 30s, with wind chills as low as the upper teens and 20s. Please ensure pets are brought indoors, and dress warmly for your Monday morning commute!
A cold start to next week will be followed by a quick warm-up through midweek, with above-normal temperatures expected by Wednesday. It will continue to warm-up late in the week, with record highs possible on Friday!
