Active spring pattern across the center of our nation with several episodes of severe weather and heavy rainfall expected into next week. The potential for very large hail, long track tornadoes, severe wind gusts, frequent cloud to ground lightning strikes and flash flooding are in the outlook. NWS Fort Worth will be conducting a required, scheduled upgrade to their weather processing system the week of June 16, 2025. The forecast office in Fort Worth, TX will remain open and staffed throughout this period. We will still produce our routine forecast products and services, but in case of any interruptions, our backup offices will be on standby to take over. During this time, All NOAA Weather Radio transmitters maintained by NWS Fort Worth may be unavailable for extended periods of time. If you rely on NOAA Weather Radio for hazardous weather information, you must have an alternate method to receive this information for the week of June 16th.
