Rain chances return to the forecast on Saturday as a cold front moves through the region. Chances for showers and storms will begin to increase during the afternoon hours, peaking during the evening and overnight hours. Rainfall amounts will generally be less than 0.5" so we do not expect any improvements to our ongoing drought conditions.
Drought is affecting all Alabama. While we do have low to medium rain chances this weekend, it will do little to alleviate the drought conditions.
Look for mostly clear skies tonight with lows falling into the mid 50s to low 60s.
A cold front will move into the area during the late afternoon and evening hours on Saturday. As a result, we will see an increase in cloud cover and rain chances with the greatest chances across our northwestern areas. Otherwise, look for highs in the mid 80s.
