Near-critical fire weather conditions are in store once again this afternoon and early evening across southeast New Mexico, the Guadalupe/Delaware Mountains, Sacramento Foothills, and eastern Culberson County Plains. Avoid doing any activities that could cause a spark!

Critical fire weather conditions are expected on Friday as winds increase, relative humidity remains below 10 percent, and fuels continue to dry. As such, a Fire Weather Watch has been issued for southeast New Mexico, the Guadalupe/Delaware Mountains, eastern Culberson County and the northwest Permian Basin of west Texas. This watch is in effect from Noon CDT/11 AM MDT through 9 PM CDT/8 PM MDT Friday evening. Avoid outdoor burning and other activities that may cause a spark!
