Hawaii and Guam Concerns; Severe Weather for the Plains; Heavy Snow for Sierra-Nevada

Heavy rainfall capable of causing flash flooding will continue to impact Hawaii through Monday. Severe thunderstorms and heavy rain are possible in parts of Texas and the southern Plains and the Upper Great Lakes. Near-critical fire weather conditions are in store once again this afternoon and early evening across southeast New Mexico, the Guadalupe/Delaware Mountains, Sacramento Foothills, and eastern Culberson County Plains. Avoid doing any activities that could cause a spark!
Critical fire weather conditions are expected on Friday as winds increase, relative humidity remains below 10 percent, and fuels continue to dry. As such, a Fire Weather Watch has been issued for southeast New Mexico, the Guadalupe/Delaware Mountains, eastern Culberson County and the northwest Permian Basin of west Texas. This watch is in effect from Noon CDT/11 AM MDT through 9 PM CDT/8 PM MDT Friday evening. Avoid outdoor burning and other activities that may cause a spark!
Warm temperatures and windy conditions wrap up the work week. Storm/rain chances increase Friday night into Saturday morning across the Permian Basin and Lower Trans Pecos.
