Storm Impacting the Northwest U.S.; Fire Weather Conditions in Southern California; Severe Weather in the South

A Pacific storm is bringing areas of low elevation rain, moderate to heavy mountain snow, and high winds to the Northwest. Strong Santa Ana winds and very dry conditions are producing elevated to critical fire weather conditions in southern California. Severe Weather Brings Tornadoes to Central Sections of the Magnolia State

Another round of severe thunderstorms containing damaging straight line winds and 2 tornadoes occurred Friday afternoon and night, March 27-28. These storms were the fourth and final cluster of storms associated with a strong upper level disturbance across the region. Most of the damage was associated with straight line winds estimated to be 70 to 90 mph. However, two tornadoes were confirmed with the strongest, an EF1, occurring in Smith County.
