Last Map Update: Wed, Apr 29, 2026 at 3:30:24 pm EDT

Isolated strong to severe thunderstorms are possible tonight thanks to an approaching cold front that sags towards the northern Gulf coast. Locations under the Marginal Risk include: Southeast AL, Southwest GA, most of the FL Panhandle and parts of the FL Big Bend (including Tallahassee). Convection may begin impacting the FL Panhandle and/or Southeast AL as soon as late this afternoon. However, current trends point more towards the evening hours. The main threats in descending order would be strong-damaging gusts and large hail, though a brief tornado is also possible.
Regardless of how severe weather prospects pan out, we are looking at much-needed beneficial rainfall over the next few days. For tonight into Thursday morning, many locations are slated to pick up a quarter to half inch. Saturday is expected to be the rainiest day of the period when the majority of the region is poised to get 1 inch or more. Widespread 1-3 inches (isolated higher) are forecast between today and Sunday. Values are subject to change.
