Storm Impacting the Northwest U.S.; Fire Weather Conditions in Southern California; Severe Weather in the South

A Pacific storm is bringing areas of low elevation rain, moderate to heavy mountain snow, and high winds to the Northwest. Strong Santa Ana winds and very dry conditions are producing elevated to critical fire weather conditions in southern California. Leflore County Straight Line Wind Damage

Event Summary

Straight line winds caused a swath of sporadic trees snapped and large limbs broken. Shingles were taken off of an old church on County Road 37, as well as off of a store on Highway 49. Three mobile homes lost skirting with one having the roof peeled off. Estimated winds were 75 mph with the swath being roughly 500 yards wide.

Event Summary

Straight line winds estimated to be 80 mph caused a power pole to lean. A home had half of the shingles torn off and the roof lifted. Damage to a shed also occurred.
