Storm Impacting the Northwest U.S.; Fire Weather Conditions in Southern California; Severe Weather in the South

A Pacific storm is bringing areas of low elevation rain, moderate to heavy mountain snow, and high winds to the Northwest. Strong Santa Ana winds and very dry conditions are producing elevated to critical fire weather conditions in southern California. May 2nd & 3rd Severe Weather

A large and powerful storm system brought several rounds of severe weather to a large section of the Central United States. The Central Plains were hit hard on Thursday, May 1st while the Mid-South and Lower Mississippi River Valley was impacted on Friday, May 2nd into the early morning hours of May 3rd. This severe weather episode included a couple dozen tornadoes, several of which were strong, large hail and damaging winds.
