A Pacific storm is bringing areas of low elevation rain, moderate to heavy mountain snow, and high winds to the Northwest. Strong Santa Ana winds and very dry conditions are producing elevated to critical fire weather conditions in southern California. Summary: Damage began on the south side of Collins, where a billboard was blown over and a warehouse building was destroyed. As the tornado rapidly tracked east-northeast, trees were uprooted and snapped. The tornado reached its maximum width along Dennis Knight Road, about midway between Collins and Hebron. Here, numerous large trees were snapped and uprooted, including a swath where a large majority of the trees were snapped off. The tornado continued moving east-northeast, continuing to snap and uproot trees, completely removing the roof of a chicken house, and causing minor to moderate roof damage to two homes. |
