Storm Impacting the Northwest U.S.; Fire Weather Conditions in Southern California; Severe Weather in the South

A Pacific storm is bringing areas of low elevation rain, moderate to heavy mountain snow, and high winds to the Northwest. Strong Santa Ana winds and very dry conditions are producing elevated to critical fire weather conditions in southern California. Steens, Lowndes Co. Tornado

A TORNADO MOVED ACROSS EASTERN LOWNDES COUNTY STARTING AT ABOUT 355 AM TUESDAY MORNING. THE DAMAGE BEGAN 3 MILES SOUTHWEST OF STEENS...AND MOVED ACROSS THE MISSISSIPPI/ALABAMA BORDER 3 MILES EAST OF STEENS AND TRACKED ENE FOR ANOTHER 3 MILES. A MOBILE HOME WAS DEMOLISHED...A LARGE RV WAS FLIPPED...SEVERAL BUILDINGS HAD SIGNIFICANT ROOF DAMAGE...AND NUMEROUS TREES WERE SNAPPED AND UPROOTED. THE DAMAGE WAS RATED AS F2 ON THE FUJITA SCALE. THE TRACK HAD A MAXIMUM PATH WIDTH OF ABOUT 200 YARDS.
