A Pacific storm is bringing areas of low elevation rain, moderate to heavy mountain snow, and high winds to the Northwest. Strong Santa Ana winds and very dry conditions are producing elevated to critical fire weather conditions in southern California. THIS TORNADO DEVELOPED NEAR THE NORTH END OF LAKE FERGUSON OVER WASHINGTON COUNTY AT ABOUT 150 AM. THE TORNADO MOVED NORTHEAST... CAUSING MAJOR DAMAGE TO SEVERAL HOMES AND BUSINESSES IN WINTERVILLE. THE TORNADO CONTINUED MOVING NORTHEAST ACROSS BOLIVAR COUNTY... SEVERELY DAMAGING NUMEROUS HOMES AND BUSINESSES NEAR BENOIT... CLEVELAND...AND MERIGOLD. THE TORNADO DISSIPATED NEAR THE BOLIVAR/SUNFLOWER COUNTY LINE EAST OF MERIGOLD AT APPROXIMATELY 235 AM. THIS TORNADO HAD A PATH LENGTH OF 32 MILES AND A MAXIMUM WIDTH OF ONE-HALF MILE. THE DAMAGE WAS RATED AS F4 ON THE FUJITA SCALE. |
