Severe Weather and Heavy Rainfall Potential for the Plains; Coastal Low Across the mid-Atlantic

An upper trough and frontal boundary will focus showers and thunderstorms across portions of the Plains through early Monday; A few severe thunderstorms along with heavy rainfall are expected. Meanwhile, low pressure off the Southeast Coast will bring inclement weather across the mid-Atlantic coast through Monday. Student Work and Internships


There are two options for student employment in the National Weather Service: The Student Volunteer Position and the Pathways for Students and Recent Graduates.  

The Student Volunteer Position: The Student Volunteer Position is an unpaid position, for a term of up to 180 days. While in this position, you can study in any area, including meteorology, hydrology or computer/electronic systems. The position is typically open to college students only, although exceptions can be made for high school seniors with a strong interest in the NWS. Such a position could be established at the Green Bay NWS station at any time - a simple application procedure is required.
