Record breaking snowfall was noted across northern Wisconsin this winter. At Rhinelander, the seasonal total of 115.6 inches eclipsed the old record of 107.6 inches set during the winter of 2013-14. At Wausau, the seasonal total of 96.4 inches makes it the 3rd snowiest winter on record. Snow may still occur across the region into the first half of May, thus the final snowfall for the season may still change over the next several weeks.
As of April 11th, Rhinelander has received 115.6 inches of snow, making it the snowiest winter on record. Last winter, Rhinelander received 99.9 inches of snow, making it the 4th snowiest winter on record. Over the last two winters, Rhinelander has received 215.5 inches, or nearly 18 feet of snow.
