Numerous showers and thunderstorms developed across central Iowa during the early evening hours, and quickly became severe. The storms moved into northeast Iowa and far southwest Wisconsin, producing large hail, damaging winds, and flooding. An EF1 tornado occurred near Fennimore, WI (northeast Grant County).

The tornado touched down 2 miles northeast of Fennimore around 10:00 pm Sunday, June 29th.  The tornado then skipped along an east path to 3 miles northwest of Montfort and ended around 10:11 pm.  The tornado damaged several mature hardwood trees, several outbuildings and three homes.  The homes sustained minor damage compared to the hardwood trees and outbuildings.  The tornado was rated at EF1 on the Enhanced Fujita Scale with maximum estimated winds of 110 mph.  Total path length was 7.7 miles and the maximum width of the tornado was 600 yards.  Below is a map of the tornado path.
