The combination of high temperatures in the 90s and humid conditions will allow heat indices to become dangerous in some locations this weekend. Heat indices will reach from the middle 90s to around 105°F across the area with little relief expected during the overnight hours with lows only in the middle 70s to near 80 degrees.
Severe storms are expected over northern Minnesota and northern Wisconsin tonight. The southern extent of those storms may clip northcentral Wisconsin after midnight. Storms are unlikely further south. If storms happen to develop, they could become severe (threat level 2 out of 5 - slight risk). Large hail and damaging winds will be the primary threats with any severe storms. Stay Weather Aware!
With dangerous heat indices forecast for this weekend, remember that heat is one of the most deadly weather hazards. Be sure to not overexert yourself in these conditions, stay hydrated, and never leave children and pets alone in a closed car.
