January 21, 2007 Snow Totals
Table listing of totals below the map.

A winter storm system developed in the lee of the southern Rockies Saturday the 20th and then started to move northeast across Oklahoma and Kansas during the night of the 20th. Widespread snow occurred with this winter storm from Oklahoma northeast into Nebraska and Missouri during the night of the 20th and totals of 4 to 8 inches were common across this region. By daybreak of the 21st, the winter storm had moved into eastern Kansas and the snow associated with it had spread across all of Iowa and the southern halves of Minnesota and Wisconsin. As the snow moved into the area, a burst of heavy snow fell for a couple of hours and was then followed by light snow through the late morning or early afternoon of the 21st. The snow came to an end by mid to late afternoon for much of the region as the winter storm quickly moved across Missouri and Illinois. Snowfall amounts of 4 to 8 inches were widespread from eastern Nebraska across Iowa into southern Minnesota, Wisconsin and northern Illinois.

Totals across the local region varied from less than inch across Taylor county in north central Wisconsin to a stripe of 6 to 8 inches across northeast Iowa into southwest Wisconsin. The highest totals across northeast Iowa came in from Winneshiek and Allamakee counties where 7.2 inches fell at Calmar and 7.0 inches was reported at both Dorchester and near Waukon. In southwest Wisconsin, the highest totals fell across Crawford and Richland counties. 8.0 inches fell at Boaz and 6.2 inches occurred at Gays Mills and Stueben.
